Preparing for Baby: Buy New, Buy Used, or Borrow

Preparing for Louise's arrival was so much fun -- the shopping, the friends and family recommendations about the best type of baby items, the research about how to save money. Along the way, I discovered the mix of new, used, and borrowed that has worked (so far!) for our family.

5 Tips for Efficient Grocery Shopping to Save Time & Money

Here are my five best tips to save time and money at the grocery store. As a busy mom, these practices get me in and out of the store quickly and easily. They were great timesavers before the pandemic, but during COVID-19, anything I can do to reduce my time indoors with other people (while still being able to pick out my produce myself) is a win!

About me

Hi!  I’m Lauren, a recent convert from professional career-woman to stay-at-home mom and wife.

In college, I often wondered why there wasn’t a paved path diagonally across the green space in the middle of campus. I regularly cut across the lawn instead of taking the paved sidewalk around the edge, getting to and from class faster.

That’s when I first realized my love of practical optimization. Why waste time on the mundane if it can be done more efficiently and you can get back to the fun parts of life? I hope these posts help you build habits to save time and money.
